I wanted to recap after this Sunday just gone our Yoga and Acupuncture Mini Retreat. In the tranquil surroundings of Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club, we came together for a restorative Yin yoga and Acupuncture thoughtfully designed to nourish both body and spirit through the lens of winter’s Water element.
In TCM, the Kidney and Bladder meridians resonate with the Water element—our source of internal balance, resilience, and the preservation of Jing (vital essence). Winter in Traditional Chinese Medicine is a time for introspection and conservation. These meridians anchor our vitality, governing resilience, and inner strength.
A Journey of Calm and Connection
Our two-hour gathering began with a gentle Yin Yoga session, masterfully guided by the experienced Suzie Taylor. I assisted the Yoga practice with gentle acupressure techniques to calm and release the Kidney and Bladder meridians.
Then after the yoga poses, we transitioned into a deeply restorative 30-minute Acupuncture and Yoga Nidra experience, led by me! I'm an AHPRA-registered practitioner with over 20 years of clinical experience. I moved mindfully between attendees, stimulating three key acupoints to help a deep, nervous system reset.
To complete our nurturing ritual, we savoured a homemade warming chai tea and bliss balls—perfectly grounding and replenishing for the day ahead. The recipes I used are here (Goji Bliss Balls) and here (Caramel Cashew Balls)
