Labour Preparation Support

Health professionals may encourage you to try acupuncture to prepare for labour, including midwives and Obstetricians.

They may also recommend to use Acupuncture once an induction has been booked in already or if there's another medical reason to encourage a spontaneous labour earlier than expected. Examples include cholestasis, gestational diabetes or pre-eclampsia. The Acupuncture is utilised as support to prepare the body for labour, not to treat these specific pregnancy risks. Labour preparation Acupuncture can be suggested at the beginning of full term, at 37 weeks.
