New Zealand’s Prime Minister Gives Birth.

A BIG congratulations to Jacinda Arden, New Zealand's Prime Minister, who gave birth to her baby daughter last Thursday at 4.45pm local time.

For women especially in their 30's who are pregnant, trying to conceive or new mothers, Jacinda is a positive role model, and we need more like her. Congratulations!

Later called Neve Te Aroha Arden Gayford, she weighed in at 3.31kgs. Ms Arden gave birth in Auckland City Hopsital, the country's largest public hospital.

I think it's incredible to have a political leader who is taking on the office of parliament and parenthood simultaneously. What a great role model for women everywhere, of how capable women are.

Juggling the career and fertility journey, let alone motherhood, is no easy feat. I think it's great that a world leader such as Ms Arden is bringing the normalcy of real life to the media this week. That you CAN be a working woman and a mother at the same time.

Her comments about how her and husband Clarke Gayford would start their parenting journey: "Over the next six weeks we'll do what every other parent does and learn the little nuances … and just figure things out as we go."

Thankyou Jacinda for presenting a real-world example of how life continues on for women everywhere after becoming a Mother. And what an important role Mother is.

For women especially in their 30's who are pregnant, trying to conceive or new mothers, Jacinda is a positive role model, and we need more like her. Congratulations!
